From food assistance and food rescue to livelihood opportunities, foodpanda celebrates World Food Month by sharing the goodness of food with communities across the Philippines.
Food is more than just something we put on the table. It brings people together, creates opportunities, and provides comfort, especially to families and communities facing difficult circumstances.
This World Food Month, foodpanda Philippines is taking its commitment to “Making Life Delicious” beyond food delivery through its community initiative, “Let’s Do Our PAU-rt,” bringing together government agencies, non-government organizations, academic institutions, and local businesses to help address food insecurity and support community development.
Through a series of activities across Metro Manila, Tuguegarao, and Cebu, foodpanda extended assistance to vulnerable communities through food donations, livelihood support, food rescue initiatives, and other collaborative efforts.
Among its activities were the Donor for the Day initiatives with Walang Gutom Kitchen in Pasay and Cebu, which provided support to individuals experiencing street situations. These efforts highlighted how sharing meals can make a meaningful difference in the lives of people who need assistance.
Foodpanda also turned its attention to local food entrepreneurs and community enterprises by partnering with Taguig Kakanin Cooperative, Simbayanan ni Maria Multi-purpose Cooperative, and the Department of Trade and Industry – National Capital Region (DTI NCR) through pandamarket. The collaboration aims to provide greater opportunities for local cooperatives and merchants to reach more customers and strengthen their livelihoods.
Beyond food distribution, the initiative also brought volunteers into community kitchens. In partnership with Scholars of Sustenance Philippines and the Quezon City Social Services Development Department, foodpanda supported the preparation and distribution of ready-to-eat meals for its delivery partners and child development centers in Quezon City.
The company likewise extended food voucher assistance to persons deprived of liberty at BJMP Makati City Jail and supported the Hapag-Pag-Asa Program of the University of St. Louis in Tuguegarao City.
“At foodpanda, we believe that making life delicious goes beyond delivering food—it also means helping make food more accessible to communities that need it most. Through ‘Let’s Do Our PAU-rt,’ we are proud to work alongside our partners to support vulnerable communities, strengthen local livelihoods, and contribute to efforts that address food insecurity. These initiatives reflect our commitment to creating meaningful impact beyond World Food Month and reaffirm the importance of collaboration in building more resilient communities,” said Leopoldo De Castro Jr., Finance Director at foodpanda Philippines.
Making every meal count
The “Let’s Do Our PAU-rt” campaign reflects foodpanda’s belief that meaningful community impact takes more than one organization. By working with different sectors, the company hopes to help make food more accessible, support local livelihoods, and encourage more collaborative efforts to address hunger.
Aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2: Zero Hunger and 17: Partnerships for the Goals, the initiative reinforces the importance of working together to create communities where more people have access to food and opportunities.
As foodpanda celebrates World Food Month, its message goes beyond satisfying cravings and delivering favorite meals. It is also about sharing what we have, supporting those who need it, and making every little act of kindness count.
Because sometimes, the most meaningful thing food can deliver is not just a meal, but hope and a stronger sense of community.
