I hope you have seen McDonald’s new heartwarming short film – if not, do check it out! The video, already out on their Facebook, shows how McDonald’s honor their delivery partners with the help of the people they hold dear: their families.

In the whole video, it was Nelia’s story that I can relate to the most. Being a woman in a man’s world, kinakaya nya for the sake of her kids to be able to provide for them; and I was especially touched when I saw how her kids understand why she does what she does, and when her family surprised her, telling her, “We missed you!”

As a single mom, I can truly say that it’s hard to make a living to be able to provide for your family and be at their side. Sometimes, family time suffers but if you have children who truly understand the situation, then it’s a blessing.

That is why when time permits, having a meal together with my family is important and memorable. Since I have five kids, I make it a point to have a special day for each of them if they can’t come together all at the same time.

And because of this, I also make it a point to spend time with them in various ways, including getting them their favorite meals from McDonald’s! This is my way of saying that, I miss them and always thinking of them whatever and wherever I am.

Beside my children, I decided to surprise my Tatay with his favorite spaghetti and burger. Tatay always has a smile whenever there’s a delivery at home and that’s one thing that I will always treasure 🙂
