I started my Airbnb by chance, as I found myself with several unused rooms in my house since my kids had moved into their own condo units in the city. Feeling a sense of loneliness with fewer people in the house, I decided to turn the extra space into something valuable. That’s why I chose to start my Airbnb. Located in Antipolo, my home welcomes guests for various reasons.
When asked why I started the Airbnb, my response is simple: Why not?
There are several reasons why people choose to use Airbnb when traveling:
- Unique accommodations: Airbnb offers a wide range of unique and unconventional accommodations that may not be available through traditional hotels. From cozy apartments and beachfront villas to treehouses and castles, Airbnb allows travelers to find accommodations that suit their preferences and add a touch of novelty to their stay.
- Local experiences: Staying in an Airbnb allows travelers to immerse themselves in the local culture and experience the destination from a more authentic perspective. Hosts often provide insider tips and recommendations on local attractions, restaurants, and hidden gems, helping travelers discover the less touristy aspects of a place.
- Cost-effectiveness: In many cases, Airbnb accommodations can be more affordable than traditional hotels, especially for longer stays or when traveling in groups. Airbnb offers a range of options at different price points, allowing travelers to find accommodations that fit their budget.
- Amenities and space: Airbnb properties often provide additional amenities and more space compared to standard hotel rooms. Travelers can enjoy amenities such as kitchens, living areas, and outdoor spaces, which can be particularly beneficial for families or travelers who prefer to have more privacy and flexibility during their stay.
- Flexibility and comfort: Airbnb offers flexible check-in and check-out times, giving travelers more freedom to plan their itinerary without being tied to hotel schedules. Additionally, Airbnb accommodations often provide a homely and comfortable atmosphere, allowing travelers to relax and unwind in a space that feels more like a home away from home.
- Community and connections: By staying in an Airbnb, travelers have the opportunity to connect with local hosts who can provide insights and recommendations about the destination. It can be a chance to engage in meaningful conversations, learn about the local culture, and build connections with people from different backgrounds.
While Airbnb has its advantages, it’s important for travelers to do their due diligence by reading reviews, checking the property’s location, and understanding the host’s cancellation and refund policies to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience.
