Reinforcing its commitment to sustainability and plastic waste reduction, Sabon Express proudly launched its newest innovation—the Blue Box self-service refill station—with vital support from the Department of Science and Technology – National Capital Region (DOST-NCR) under its Community Empowerment through Science and Technology (CEPA) Program.

The launch event also highlighted the introduction of the Sabon Express Vendo Machine, presented by Ms. Mellany Zambrano, Founder and CEO of Sabon Express, together with BJMPMBAI General Arturo Alit and key members of the product team. This joint effort reflects a strong public-private partnership dedicated to expanding access to eco-conscious hygiene solutions.

“The Department of Science and Technology has been instrumental in opening doors for us. With their guidance and support, we were able to finally bring the Blue Box to life—an idea we’ve passionately worked on for years,” said Ms. Zambrano.

Sabon Express, recently recognized as Brand of the Year by the World Class Excellence Japan Awards, continues to lead with purpose-driven innovation. The Blue Box offers consumers an affordable and sustainable way to purchase household cleaning essentials like dishwashing liquid, fabric conditioner, and detergent powder—starting at only ₱5.00 for 50ml.

How the Blue Box Works:

  • Bring Your Own Bottle – Reduce waste by reusing containers.

  • Choose Your Product – Refill only what you need, according to your budget.

  • Pay, Refill, and Reuse – A simple, cost-effective, and eco-friendly solution.

A 1-liter refill using the Blue Box can replace up to 54 sachets, helping customers save over ₱400 while significantly reducing single-use plastic waste.

“The Blue Box isn’t just a vending machine—it’s a practical, scalable solution for Filipino families and small businesses seeking sustainable alternatives,” Zambrano emphasized.

Meanwhile, the Sabon Express Vendo Machine, also launched during the event, provides another easy and convenient way for consumers to access hygiene products anytime, supporting habits that contribute to a zero-waste lifestyle.

These efforts underscore the importance of collaboration between government and private sectors in scaling environmental innovations that benefit local communities.

Now part of an expanding one-stop-shop network, both the Blue Box and Sabon Express Vendo Machine are bringing eco-friendly, affordable alternatives directly to the Filipino public—one refill at a time.

“This is a dream fulfilled—not just for me, but for every Filipino who envisions a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable future,” Zambrano concluded.

With every refill and reused container, Sabon Express moves the Philippines closer to a circular economy where sustainability and affordability go hand in hand.
