DOE recognition highlights Isla LPG’s efforts to develop a more capable, safety-focused workforce across the Philippine LPG value chain

 Isla LPG Corporation is strengthening its commitment to safety, technical competency, and responsible industry practices with the launch of Isla EDGE, its dedicated training arm for developing qualified and safety-conscious LPG practitioners.

The milestone was marked during a recognition and launch event on August 19, 2026, following the Department of Energy’s (DOE) recognition of Isla LPG Corporation as one of the country’s LPG Training Organizations.

The initiative comes as LPG continues to play a significant role in the Philippines’ energy landscape. According to the Philippine Statistics Authority’s 2020 Census of Population and Housing, 47.9% of Philippine households used LPG as their primary cooking fuel, making it the most commonly used cooking fuel nationwide.

With LPG widely used by households and businesses, proper handling, storage, transportation, distribution, and sale remain critical to consumer and workplace safety. The industry’s evolving regulatory environment also places greater emphasis on competency, compliance, accountability, and consumer protection.

The LPG Industry Regulation Act (Republic Act No. 11592) further strengthens the regulatory framework governing the sector, while the Philippine Energy Plan 2023–2050 anticipates continued growth in household LPG requirements.

Against this backdrop, Isla LPG is positioning Isla EDGE as a platform for continuous learning and professional development across the LPG ecosystem.
