Despite decades of progress, many LGBTQIA+ individuals today still walk a tightrope between self-expression and societal expectation. The simple act of being oneself is often met with judgment, discrimination, and even violence. For countless members of the community, the mental and emotional toll of navigating unsafe spaces and conforming to norms is all too familiar.
The fact of the matter is, queer folk need more than just visibility, an acknowledgement of their existence, they need spaces where they are celebrated for the very differences that make them standout. This is why inclusive platforms like LoveYourself’s Pride Night are more than celebrations—they are lifelines. They are affirmations that you are valid, you are seen, and you belong.
On May 31st, as the clock counts down to the start of Pride Month, experience an electric, unapologetic kickoff unlike any before. LoveYourself proudly presents Express Yourself: Pride Night 2025 — a call on everyone in the LGBTQIA+ community to show up as their truest selves in a space designed to embrace and empower.
The importance of celebrations like these cannot be understated. Around the world, a growing wave of anti-LGBTQIA+ policies—especially those targeting trans rights—is creating fear and uncertainty. Political figures and lawmakers are pushing for laws that erode basic freedoms and strip away the dignity of LGBTQIA+ lives. At the same time, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) programs are being scaled back or dismantled in major institutions, leaving marginalized groups with fewer resources, fewer safe spaces, and even fewer opportunities for representation. On top of all this, hate speech is intensifying—both online and off—fuelling real-world discrimination and violence against LGBTQIA+ individuals.
For too long, queer Filipinos have battled isolation, internalized shame, and the absence of environments that uplift their truth. Many still carry the weight of cultural expectations and fear of rejection. In such a climate, the act of proudly expressing one’s identity becomes not only radical but essential. Express Yourself stands tall as a necessary counterforce: a defiant celebration of authenticity, a bold statement of resilience, and a safe space where self-expression isn’t just allowed—it’s an honored right.
Building on the success of Pride Night 2024: Reflecting on the Past, Celebrating the Present, Shaping the Future, which honored the LGBTQIA+ community’s journey through powerful performances and immersive storytelling, this year’s Express Yourself takes things even further. Last year’s celebration lit up the Bridgetowne Open Grounds with star-studded appearances by Pia Wurtzbach, Sophia Arkanghel, Chelsea Manalo, and Cyrille Payumo, alongside electrifying drag performances by Precious Paula Nicole, Captivating Katkat, Brigiding, and many more. Guests engaged with thought-provoking installations, wrote messages of love and advocacy, and walked through Rainbow History Lane—a tribute to queer resilience.
While 2024 invited the community to reflect, 2025 calls on everyone to protest with joy. Express Yourself doesn’t just invite self-expression; it demands it—igniting a louder celebration at a time when LGBTQIA+ lives and rights are increasingly under threat. This year’s Pride Night brings together some of the community’s fiercest allies and champions. Attendees can look forward to special appearances from Dr. Ronivin Pagtakhan, LoveYourself founder and long-time LGBTQIA+ advocate; Pia Wurtzbach, Miss Universe 2015 and enduring ally for equality; and Markki Stroem, a multi-talented artist and LGBTQIA+ advocate. The night will also feature appearances from community icons Raven Heyres, Makki Lucino, John Mark Saga, Rhap Salazar, and Winter—a dazzling drag queen serving a live vocal performance.
LoveYourself’s commitment to providing affirming, inclusive spaces continues with this unforgettable night. From glittering drag queens to soul-shaking anthems, from statement fashion to heartfelt community moments—Pride Night 2025 will be a radiant call to action, a celebration of individuality in all its forms.
Join us on May 31 and step into June with power, pride, and purpose. Expect live music, show-stopping drag performances, heart-lifting art, and electric energy from start to finish. Come as you are—or as more than you’ve ever been allowed to be.
