Strategic agreements bring consumer protection tools to telecom customers and mobile security technology to digital financial services.
Kaspersky and Best Telecom are expanding their strategic partnership in Lao People’s Democratic Republic (Lao PDR) through two agreements designed to strengthen cybersecurity across the telecommunications and financial-services sectors.
The agreements, signed during a visit to Laos by Kaspersky founder and CEO Eugene Kaspersky, cover consumer cybersecurity services through Best Telecom and the integration of Kaspersky Mobile Security Software Development Kit (SDK) technology through Sysmatik, an affiliated business and one of Laos’ leading information technology firms.
The expanded cooperation aims to make digital protection more accessible to consumers while supporting greater trust in the country’s growing digital ecosystem.
Extending Cybersecurity Beyond Connectivity
Under the agreement with Best Telecom, eligible customers will be able to access Kaspersky’s consumer security solutions, including Kaspersky Standard, Kaspersky Premium, and Kaspersky Safe Kids, through a bundled service model.
The initiative allows the telecommunications provider to extend its offerings beyond connectivity by incorporating cybersecurity protection into services customers already use.
By making security solutions available through an established telecom channel, the partnership seeks to simplify access to digital protection as consumers increasingly rely on connected devices for communication, online activities, and everyday transactions.
The offering also gives Best Telecom an opportunity to develop additional value-added services as demand for digital security grows.
Mobile Security for Digital Financial Services
A separate memorandum of understanding between Kaspersky and Sysmatik focuses on rolling out the Kaspersky Mobile Security SDK for Android and iOS.
The technology is designed to provide malware and phishing protection, helping strengthen mobile security within digital financial-services ecosystems operated by Best Telecom affiliates.
As banking and financial transactions increasingly move to mobile platforms, security measures that help detect and prevent digital threats have become an important part of protecting users and maintaining confidence in online services.
Integrating security capabilities into mobile applications can help financial-service providers strengthen their security frameworks while supporting a more trusted digital experience for customers.
Together, the two agreements address different aspects of digital protection: consumer cybersecurity through telecommunications services and mobile security technology for digital financial ecosystems.
Supporting Laos’ Digital Transformation
The expanded partnership comes as digital services become more integrated into everyday life, increasing reliance on telecommunications networks, mobile devices, and digital financial platforms.
This shift also exposes consumers and businesses to risks such as malware, phishing, and online fraud, reinforcing the need for accessible and effective cybersecurity measures.
For Best Telecom, the collaboration supports its efforts to offer customers more comprehensive digital services. For Sysmatik and affiliated financial-service businesses, the mobile security integration is intended to strengthen protection within their digital ecosystems.
Eugene Kaspersky, CEO of Kaspersky, said the partnership reflects the growing importance of cybersecurity as digital transformation creates new opportunities for individuals and businesses.
He added that the cooperation with Best Telecom and the broader AIF Group aims to make digital protection more accessible while strengthening trust in the telecommunications and financial-services sectors.
Dr. Rithikone Phoummasack, CEO of Best Telecom, described cybersecurity as a fundamental enabler of Laos’ continuing digital transformation. He said the collaboration would help make trusted security capabilities more accessible through services that consumers already rely on.
Building a More Secure Digital Ecosystem
The agreements form part of the broader strategic relationship between Kaspersky and Best Telecom, with the companies seeking to integrate cybersecurity into key areas of the digital economy.
By combining consumer security offerings with mobile protection technology, the partnership illustrates how telecommunications and information technology providers can incorporate security into the digital services they deliver.
As Laos continues to advance its digital transformation, the collaboration aims to support a more secure environment for connected consumers and businesses while helping build confidence in the country’s expanding digital economy.
