Renewable energy company Vena Energy welcomed Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Secretary Juan Miguel Cuna during his visit to the company’s solar facilities in Currimao and Paoay, Ilocos Norte, on September 10, 2026.

The visit provided an opportunity for Vena Energy to brief the DENR delegation on its existing renewable energy operations in the province, as well as solar projects currently under development.

Vena Energy currently operates two solar power plants in Currimao, managed by Mirae Asia Energy Corporation and Nuevo Solar Energy Corp. The company is also developing two additional solar projects in Ilocos Norte—the Astra Solar Power Project in Currimao and the Opus Solar Power Project in Paoay.

The project portfolio reflects Vena Energy’s continuing investment in solar power development in the Philippines and its presence in the country’s renewable energy sector.

During the site visit, Vena Energy representatives provided Secretary Cuna and members of the DENR delegation with an overview of the company’s operational facilities and upcoming developments, highlighting the progress of its solar projects in Ilocos Norte.

The engagement also underscores the role of collaboration between renewable energy developers and government agencies in supporting the responsible development of clean-energy infrastructure.

With two solar facilities already operating and two additional projects in the development pipeline, Vena Energy continues to expand its renewable energy portfolio in Ilocos Norte while contributing to the province’s growing role in the country’s clean-energy landscape.
