ORIENTAL WINGS AND VEGGIE STIR-FRY

Ingredients:

 

1/4         cup         cooking oil

1              pack (550 g)        MAGNOLIA CHICKEN TIMPLADOS ORIENTAL WINGS, each piece cut into 3

1              pc (50 g)               onion, sliced

1              pc (60 g)               carrot, sliced

1              pc (50 g)               red bell pepper, sliced

1              can (425 g)          young corn cuts, drained

1              head (300 g)       broccoli, cut into florets

1              tbsp       hoisin sauce

1              tbsp       water

Procedure:

 

In a pan, heat oil and fry wings over medium heat until cooked through and golden brown. Set aside.

In the same pan, stir-fry onion, carrot, red bell pepper, young corn and broccoli for about 3 to 5 minutes.

Mix hoisin sauce and water until well blended. Pour sauce over veggies. Add chicken and toss with vegetables until well coated with sauce.

Makes 4 to 6 servings.

(Yield: 12 pc chicken wings & 1-1/2 cups veggies/2-3 pc chicken and 1/4 to 1/3 cup veggies per serving)

CHEESY CHICKEN FINGERS DOG WITH BACON & MUSHROOMS

Ingredients:

 

1              pack (450 g)        MAGNOLIA CHICKEN TIMPLADOS CHEESY CHICKEN FINGERS, cooked according to package directions (10 pc)

5              pc           hotdog bun, split

1/4         cup (64 g)            MAGNOLIA CHEEZEE SQUEEZE

1/4         cup (50 g)            sliced button mushrooms

1/4         cup (55 g)            PUREFOODS BACON CRUMBLE, cooked according to package directions

Procedure:

 

  1. Warm cheese sauce in a small saucepan or in the microwave. Meanwhile, arrange hotdog buns on a plate and place 2 pc of chicken fingers in each bun.
  2. Slather cheese sauce on chicken fingers, and then top with 5 pc sliced mushrooms. Sprinkle bacon on top.

 

Makes 5 servings.

(Yield: 5 sandwiches/1 sandwich per serving)

Note/s:

 

Add toasted garlic for additional crunch.

Include thinly sliced vegetables as topping such as carrots and lettuce or add some coleslaw.

CHICKEN INASAL JAVA RICE

Ingredients:

 

1/4 cup + 2          tbsp (69 g)           STAR MARGARINE GARLIC

1              tbsp       cooking oil

2              packs (550 g each)           MAGNOLIA CHICKEN TIMPLADOS INASAL

1              tbsp (26 g)           achuete seeds (annatto)

1              pc (80 g)               onion, cubed

1              cup (200 g)          short grain rice

1              tsp          iodized fine salt

2              cups       chicken stock

1/2         pack (50 g)          frozen mixed vegetables

Procedure:

 

  1. Heat 2 tbsp margarine and oil in a medium pot. Fry chicken until cooked through. Set aside.
  2. In the same pot, add remaining margarine and achuete seeds. Cook over low heat until color of margarine changes. Discard seeds.
  3. Adjust heat to medium. Add onion, rice and salt. Cook for about a minute and then add chicken stock. Stir continuously until rice mixture is boiling. Cover and cook over low heat for 20 minutes until rice is almost tender.
  4. Add mixed vegetables and gently stir in rice. Turn off heat and place chicken on top just before serving.

 

 

Makes 4 servings.

(Yield: 4pc chicken and 4 cups rice/1 pc chicken and 1 cup rice per serving)

 

Tip/s:

Use the same pan with all the chicken drippings from frying to create a more flavorful dish.

Slit chicken further to flatten for more even cooking and browning.
