QBE recently took part in the Department of Education’s Brigada Eskwela 2025, with over 500 employee volunteers contributing their time to help prepare learning spaces at three public schools across Manila and Cebu ahead of the new school year.

In Cebu, QBE continued its engagement with Bagong Lipunan Elementary School and Zapatera Elementary School as part of a broader, ongoing partnership with these schools. This year also marked a new milestone, with QBE extending its assistance to Soldiers Hills Elementary School in Muntinlupa City, Metro Manila for the first time.

The initiative was led by Team Verde, QBE Philippines’ employee-driven sustainability network, and organized through the QBE Foundation in the Philippines. Volunteers from across the organization came together to clean classrooms, paint walls and chairs, cover books, and tend to urban gardens.

Senior leaders joined employee volunteers in both Cebu and Manila, highlighting the company’s emphasis on hands-on participation and community engagement at every level.

A total of 295 employees joined the effort in Cebu. Over the years, the QBE Foundation has supported its adopted schools not only during Brigada Eskwela, but also through a range of long-term programs, including enhancing school facilities, provision of learning and teaching supplies, and running a school-day nutrition program to support student health.

In Manila, 220 volunteers contributed their time at Soldiers Hills Elementary School–QBE’s first participation in Brigada Eskwela in the area.

The activities were carried out in partnership with the Philippine Business for Social Progress (PBSP), a long-standing ally in QBE Foundation’s community initiatives.

QBE is a global insurance company headquartered in Sydney, Australia. Its Global Shared Services Centre (GSSC) in the Philippines provides operational and support services for QBE’s global operations.
